    Overcoming Common "Objections"
    © 2004 John M. Hanevy

Overcoming "objections" is a common problem all salespersons face. In order to "close" your prospects you must first overcome the reasons they give for not purchasing from you, or for not joining your program. Here are some of the more common objections and suggested answers to them.

Objection 1 : "I don't have any money for marketing."
Answer :
That's O.K. There are many marketing methods you can use for free! For example, post flyers and ads on bulletin boards, add a "signature" to all outgoing email and on your "snail mail" correspondence, get some free business cards printed up and distribute them as you run errands, place free ads on websites and in ezines that accept them, and write articles for ezines that need them.

SFI provides free flyers, text ads, and banner ads that you can use in your marketing campaigns. They also have low-cost postcard and self-mailers available, as well as "calling cards".

Objection 2: "I don't have any time to do this."
Answer :
If you have the money, but not the time--then place paid ads on targeted websites, in ezines, in home business magazines, and/or use pay-per-click advertising campaigns. Adding a "signature" to your outgoing email and regular mail takes no time at all, and is also free. Dropping off business cards and posting flyers as you do your errands also takes minimal time--post a flyer at your grocery store, laundromat, etc.

SFI has flyers that you can print out and distribute--no cost to you! "Calling cards", postcards, and self-mailers are also available at very low cost.

Objection 3:"I don't know how to sell."
Answer :
That's O.K. We have a free training course (or call) and free marketing materials to help you along. (Most programs have something that they use to train their affiliates, make sure you highlight this program, and any marketing aids, to your prospects.)

SFI has a free Internet Income course, free audio training, and a very active Discussion Board--also free--to help new affiliates "learn the ropes". They also provide a free "basic training" course--Smart Start, which fully explains SFI and suggests ways of marketing the opportunity and the products!

Objection 4: "Everyone knows that these online businesses are all just scams."
Answer :
Really? So I guess Amazon.com and Ebay are just very successful scams? Point out to your prospects how long your company has been in business, how many members it has, any business affiliations or awards that it holds. Point them to the testimonial section of your website and to the stories of successful affiliates. Businesses that are "scams" don't last very long, successful businesses do

SFI has been helping people make money online for years--and their program has millions of affiliates! You can read testimonials from other affiliates on the site--look for "What Others are Saying About SFI"

Objection 5: "These products are too expensive--especially with the shipping and handling--no one would spend so much for these products when they can get similar products for much cheaper prices elsewhere."
Answer :
So how do you explain the variety of automobiles driven on the road today? Why doesn't everyone drive the cheapest vehicle available? Why doesn't everyone own the same model home? People buy products based on many factors--price is not necessarily the most important one for them. Other factors, such as quality, reliability, reputation, guarantee, value, convenience, and prior experiences with the product are also part of the equation. If your prospects see the benefits of your product clearly, they will buy it.

Research your products, make sure you fully understand what makes them stand out from the crowd--then market these benefits to your prospects. The more you know about your products, the better your presentation will be and the easier it will be for you to close the sale.

SFI provides free gateway websites that fully explain the benefits of the products to your prospects. You just promote your websites, and let the site close the sale!
